Rotor Review Submissions
Next Issue: Fall 2024 #166
Before we get ready to release the Summer Issue (RR #165) with a theme of “The Human Weapon,” I just want to say thank you.  I couldn't be prouder of your contributions, in photograph and article form. Your thoughts and ideas about mental and physical health and its impact upon mission and warfighting will enrich our members. Human experience is what connects us, and this issue does just that.
I am also excited to announce the Fall Issue (RR #166) with a theme of "Why We Fight."  If it sounds ambiguous, your intuition is correct. If you attended Symposium, you probably noticed that the topics discussed floated around from the future of AI to the state of our supply system, yet every question posed at each panel related back to one thing: the “why” of it all.
Why do we get in the cockpit every day?  What makes us show up to an early AOM, bleary eyed from the flight just 8 hours before?  What drives us to put on a flight suit every day and lace up those boots?  What drives us to stay in the game, and what pushes us away?
Share your thoughts with us regarding:
- Who or what inspired you to serve?
- What keeps you motivated to keep charging on deployment?
- What are some changes you think the Navy should be focusing on to make the organization better?
- What encourages you to be proud of your service?  What doesn't?
- If you've decided to stay in the Navy / Marine Corps / Coast Guard, what drove your decision?
- If you've decided to leave the Navy / Marine Corps / Coast Guard, what drove your decision?
- What effect does command climate and culture have on retention in the Navy?
- How does a common brotherhood / sisterhood influence … why we fight?
The deadline for this issue is 01 September 2024.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Editorial Policy
Rotor Review (ISSN: 1085-9683) is published quarterly by the Naval Helicopter Association, Inc. and is intended to support the goals of the Association, provide a forum for discussion and exchange of information on topics of interest to the naval helicopter community, and keep membership informed of NHA activities. As necessary, the President and the Executive Director of NHA will provide guidance to the Rotor Review Editorial Board to ensure that Rotor Review content continues to support this statement of policy as the Naval Helicopter Association adjusts to the expanding helicopter community.
